Water (Poets United Inspired)
I drank water on a hot day
Finished my canteen by noon
There were miles left on my desert journey
My lips parched,
My tongue grew thirsty
I needed to drink again, to replenish an old canteen
to see a deadly mirage no more

Hi SC, I must say your poem made me thirsty just reading it. Seeing a deadly mirage would be frightening!

All goes to show one has to take more than one canteen. Water is so important to survival.

I see a metaphor in this piece...we've so greedily used up all our resources without any thought for the consequences. And now the drought of the future is the mirage looming on our horizon!

Great poem...

Just fill your canteen from the right well.

We miss it when the canteen is dry...Otherwise, we finish all in one gulp.

Yes - this is what humans have done collectively.

SC - this is the truth that you have written !
